I need a vacation from our vacation

We just got back from a vacation that I would like to say was relaxing.  I would like to say that it was great to get away and it was fun.  Well, the first week was great, except the part where The Quiet Man got the two grocery bags mixed up, and while thinking that he was throwing out the one with the trash, threw out the one with his cell phone and camera.  Yep.  We drove down to Reno for a convention.  You know how road trips go, you have one bag that you use for trash.  Here's a word to the wise, don't use two bags that look exactly the same!!

Then The Quiet Man got really sick.  The part where he was coughing and had a high fever was not so fun.  I felt really helpless and we were so far from home.  We gunned it home.  I thought that I dodged the illness with my herbal remedies, but it's hard to do when you share the same small hotel rooms and the same truck for days on end.  At least I get to endure the worst of it at home.

Then, just to top it off, right after we crossed the border back into Canada, a truck passed us and kicked up a rock.  It hit the windshield with one of those cracks that make you jump.  The rock hit so hard that it almost went right through and glass from the inside of the windshield chipped off and fell onto the console between us.

On a good note, we saw some beautiful country and I got some beautiful photos.  I got to see a great friend, and spend the evening with her family.  That was so fun.  Here are two photos I'm thinking of using in the spare room I'm redoing.
